Feb 6: Super Beard

I hope you laugh while looking at these images. I'm still laughing.
(For the full effect, click on any of the images to enlarge it.)

I set up my gear for a repeatable shot, in the living room.

I rigged it all with Pocketwizards. My handheld PW triggers the camera's PW. The camera triggers the strobes with a sync cord and simultaneously relays the signal to a 3rd PW. The 3rd PW triggers my Speedlite in the back (pictured above).

A couple meter readings and we'll be ready.

The light looks pretty nice.

(This would be a good one to enlarge. Click on it. Then laugh heartily.)

The Super Bowl has arrived. Kickoff. I win the bet.
Let the insanity proceed, unabated.

Although Vanessa doesn't care for it, I might keep the 'stache for a few days.
It took me 11 weeks to grow it. I might as well flaunt it.

Feb 5: The Bet

Vanessa and I made a bet about a month ago.

I shaved the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. After 6 weeks, I was ready to shave again, but Vanessa challenged me. She wagered I would not be able to let my beard grow until the Super Bowl.

Last week, I took this photo of myself.

The Super Bowl is tomorrow. I am going to win this bet.
It's a good thing it's almost over, because I'm turning into a crazyman.

Neither of us remember the stakes of the bet.

Jan 20: Best Day

Today was the best day of 2011, for me.
The weather was great, the snow was great, the skiing was great, etc etc.
We had a ton of fun.

In reverse chronological order:

Justin shot a few frames of me at the end of the day.
I am sporting an 8-week beard. It helps keep the snow out of my face (and encourages other skiers to keep their distance).

My telemark form is a little out of practice, but I managed a few decent turns.

Justin gets waaaaay low.

This was taken 1/10 second earlier. Watch out for the buried ice layer.

We did shoot some good images though, earlier.

We mixed it up with a few big-mountain lines too. What a day!
More tomorrow.

Oct 14: Hair Cut

I let my beard grow for most of 2 months, longer than ever before.
I thought of letting it go through Halloween, but decided it was just too much.
I feel cleaner now, and the neighborhood dogs no longer fear the crazy guy.
I shot 60 images while I cut my hair and trimmed the beard.
This one cracks me up.
